I grew up in the area and had many happy times on the boardwalk as a teenager. It was sad to see it deteriorate into a virtual ghost town, but now it's back!This guide mentions some of the old places I remember in addition to lots of new things to see and do in town. The guide includes a lot of history of Asbury Park's well known music scene and mention of places I never even thought to visit, such as The Silverball Pinball Museum. The reader can use this guide to plan a day and night filled with activities and places that are unique to Asbury Park. I highly recommend it.

Best way to find all the hidden treasures that Asbury has...
So I grew up next to Asbury as a kid when it was a ghost town. I hadn't been back in years until just recently and holy cow what a difference! I tried looking on my phone to figure out what the cool kids do these days, but just found a bunch of outdated blog posts until I stumbled across this guide. I felt like a tourist (a "BENNY" as the locals would call me) for getting it, but it was actually really awesome. It basically lays out a fun full-day trip around town, hitting all the great spots both old and new. It points out a few places to eat or get a drink, some music venues, and even where you can eat, watch live music and bowl at the same time! Oh yeah, there's the beach too but you can probably find that on your own. FUN BONUS It keeps you from wandering across the tracks to the side of town that hasn't seen such a great revitalization.
TL;DR buy this guide and have a much better day trip than you would have otherwise.
